The Core Practice at Flownesis
PortDeBras™
Fluid, expressive movement that connects the whole body
PortDeBras combines flowing, continuous movement with functional training, dynamic stretching, balance, rhythm and mindful whole-body coordination. Some of its qualities may feel familiar to people with experience in Pilates, yoga, tai chi or dance, while PortDeBras remains a distinct method and requires no previous experience in any of them.
More about PortDeBras™ and its creators
PortDeBras is a whole body exercise system built around flowing arm patterns, coordinated movement, posture and breath. Instead of treating the body as separate parts, it connects the arms, spine, pelvis and legs through continuous sequences, allowing movement to flow naturally through the whole body.
The method develops mobility, dynamic flexibility, functional strength, balance, rhythm and control. Its flowing structure supports coordination, alignment and body awareness, helping movement feel more comfortable, connected and expressive. The continuous rhythm of movement, combined with breath and focused attention, may also help the nervous system settle, supporting both physical ease and mental calm.
Depending on the sequence and how it is taught, the practice can feel gentle and restorative or more dynamic and physically challenging.
Regular practice may help ease everyday stiffness, muscular tension and discomfort while supporting freer movement and a more restorative experience for both body and mind.
The Method & Its Creators
The people behind PortDeBras™
Vladimir Snezhik is the author and developer of PortDeBras™. A former professional dancer trained in choreography, he worked as a ballet master and founded studios in modern choreography and aerobics before presenting his fitness work internationally.
Olga Snezhik is the co-author of the PortDeBras™ method and co-owner of the PortDeBras™ company.
In & Beyond the Studio
What to expect from PortDeBras
Classes develop through connected sequences that invite you to move with attention, continuity and increasing confidence.

Flowing Sequences
Continuous combinations link the arms, spine, pelvis and legs, allowing movement to travel through the body with rhythm and coordination.
Mobility & Strength
Dynamic stretching and functional strengthening work together to develop range of motion that is both usable and controlled, rather than flexibility in isolation.
Awareness & Breath
Breath, balance and body awareness support smoother transitions, release unnecessary tension and help you respond to each movement with greater ease.
Movement that carries into everyday life
PortDeBras develops qualities that can carry beyond the studio, supporting greater ease, coordination and adaptability in everyday movement. At the same time, the flowing and adaptable nature of the practice may support physical restoration, helping the body gradually regain mobility, ease and confidence in movement after periods of stiffness, pain or reduced activity, while also allowing space for rest and renewal.
- Move and breathe more freely
- Build coordinated, everyday strength
- Ease unnecessary stiffness and tension
- Support physical restoration, rest and renewal through movement
- Develop mobility and flexibility

With regular practice, these qualities may help everyday movement feel easier, more connected and less restricted.

PortDeBras Formats
Different ways to experience the method
The wider PortDeBras system includes related formats that apply its principles through different settings, equipment and movement challenges.
Combined Class Format
The PortDeBras™ Club System
The Club System is a complete class format that blends selected elements from different areas of the PortDeBras™ method. A session may combine standing movement, ParTerre, Ball, Band, Barre or other elements according to the focus of the class. This does not mean every format is included every time.
Regular PortDeBras™ classes at Flownesis are usually taught through this combined Club System format.
Floor Practice
PortDeBras™ ParTerre
A floor based practice using sequenced mobility, functional and balance exercises. It develops joint mobility, muscular strength and flexibility while offering a grounding and restorative approach that may support a gradual return to larger, more comfortable ranges of movement.
With Resistance
PortDeBras™ Band
Uses elastic resistance to develop functional strength, mobility and control through connected whole body movement.
With Fitball
PortDeBras™ Ball
Uses a large fitball with flowing and spiral movement sequences to explore spinal mobility, balance, flexibility and coordination.
More formats
Classic PortDeBras™
The central standing practice connects coordinated arm patterns with spinal movement, balance, mobility and continuous transitions, developing both lightness and strength through movement.
PortDeBras™ Barre
Uses the barre for support while developing alignment, balance, controlled strength and coordinated movement.
PortDeBras™ Chair
The chair becomes both a support and a movement tool, creating different possibilities for isolating and connecting smaller or larger areas of the body. It can also make the practice more accessible for people with limited mobility and for older adults.
PortDeBras™ Towels
Similarly to the Chair format, towels are used as a movement tool to explore isolation and connection in different ways, adding new possibilities to the flowing PortDeBras practice.

Experiences
What people notice
Individual experiences vary. These reflections describe participants’ own experiences of PortDeBras classes and private sessions.
“I usually have pain in my back and around my shoulder blades. After class, the pain goes away and I feel more relaxed.”
“It was the first time I ‘discovered I have shoulder blades.’ The instructor gives clear directions, and I learn things I had never experienced in many years of sport and fitness training.”
“As soon as class ended, I realised that my shoulders and neck were more relaxed. I am usually very tense and find it difficult to relieve the discomfort. This movement opens everything up and helps my mind relax.”
“I used to go to the physio every week because of back pain, but not anymore. Since starting classes, when I am consistent, most of my days are pain-free.”
“Immersing myself in this kind of movement puts a smile on my face. There is something so enjoyable about stretching through movement and releasing. In private sessions, Eleni adapts the session to how my body is responding that day, whether I have pain or stiffness or want something more dynamic and strong. Group sessions have their own uniqueness as we move together.”
“Everyone should take this class. It wakes up the body and its systems and calms the nervous system. I usually have trouble sleeping, but when I take a class during the day, morning or evening, I feel more relaxed and ready to sleep at night.”

Led by Eleni Petrou, a PortDeBras™ Master Trainer, the practice is taught with particular attention to flow, functionality, body awareness and quality of movement. The aim is not simply to reproduce a sequence, but to help the body connect, organise and adapt through movement.
Flow is not only how movement looks. It is how the body, breath and attention work together, allowing one movement to lead naturally into the next.

The Practice
What Is
PortDeBras?
In the Studio
What to expect in a class
Each class develops through connected sequences that invite you to move with attention, continuity and increasing confidence.
What It Develops
How PortDeBras supports everyday movement
With regular practice, PortDeBras can support a more connected, capable and adaptable experience of movement.
Who Is It For?
You do not need to be a dancer
PortDeBras welcomes people of different ages, movement backgrounds and levels of experience. Whether you are completely new to movement or come from dance, sport, Pilates, yoga, tai chi or another movement practice, the sequences can be adapted to offer an appropriate level of challenge.
The PortDeBras Family
Different ways to experience the method
The wider PortDeBras system includes related formats that apply its principles through different settings, equipment and movement challenges.
Floor Practice
PortDeBras™ ParTerre
A floor based practice using sequenced mobility, functional and balance exercises. It develops joint mobility, muscular strength and flexibility while offering a grounding and restorative approach that may support a gradual return to movement.
With Fitball
PortDeBras™ Ball
Uses a large fitball with flowing and spiral movement sequences to explore spinal mobility, balance, flexibility and coordination.
With Resistance
PortDeBras™ Band
Uses elastic resistance to develop functional strength, mobility and control through connected whole body movement.
Workshops & Education
From first experience to professional training
PortDeBras can be explored through regular practice, focused events and a progressive professional education pathway.
